Final Fantasy VII Recreation Movement

We already have an official site for FFVIIRM, but you can read a few things here before going there (click here for the site).

Our Mission:

Our mission at FFVII Recreation Movement is to persuade SquareUSA to recreate FFVII for Playstation 2 and also for PC. By recreation, we mean to recreate the in-game, fighting and FMV graphics, and not to touch the storyline as it is what makes this game the best game ever created. The experience should be as similar to the original as possible, but with the enhanced graphics we hope to include many people who have never played FFVII before. It is known that FFVII is the greatest FF game out of the entire series, and it is sad to see that its position could be jeapardized by new entries like FFX and FFXI.

This mission can only be accomplished if we believe in ourselves. It IS possible. Square have succumbed to fan pressure before (Final Fantasy Chronicles is a remake of Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger), and who says they can't again? It is up to us to do something. We need your help. We need you to join up and fight for a recreation, for the greatest game ever created to make a smashing comeback and dazzle everyone.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

What we have said :

Final Fantasy VII was not only, in many gamers view, the greatest Final Fantasy title, but the greatest game ever created. It combined the most immersive storyline, ground-breaking graphics which utilized polygonal characters, amazingly composed music, and was appealing to all people in the gaming community because of the intertwined themes and game types. This was in 1998, when the gaming world was blessed by this angelic creation.

It is 2001 now, and Final Fantasy VII lives on, not only as a game that people play with extreme devotion on both PlayStation and PC, but also as discussion topics in forums and chats, ideas for Fan Fiction, and in websites totally dedicated to the amazing game. Final Fantasy VII's success was made possible by the people who bought it, the fans.

Our group, the Final Fantasy VII Recreation Movement (FFVIIRM) are wanting you, SquareSoft USA, to recreate Final Fantasy VII. The platforms for the recreation are PlayStation 2 and PC, as there are many fans who use these two systems and they are by far the most popular types of gaming to date. Through much discussion with many devoted FFVII fans, we want the storyline and main concepts (battle, moving around, etc.) to remain exactly the same, as we don't want it to differ from the original. The graphics have sadly started to become outdated, and we believe that by re-enhancing them, not only will the existing fans purchase the new FFVII and love it, new fans will be attracted by the newcomer. We think that the in-game graphics should be fully 3D, as opposed to 3D polygonal models and 2D sprite backgrounds. The FMV's should be redone to the standard of the movie FF:TSW or FFIX. This would attract many new possible gamers because 3 years has passed since the original was created and there are already new teenagers and young adults who haven't heard of FFVII. We believe that this is a perfect opportunity to boost the evergrowing FFVII fan community.

Financially, we believe that it is worth it. We do not know of any exact or approximate figures that are associated with the SquareSoft USA budget, but we are quite certain that people will come back for a second serving, and also new people trying it out for the first time. We know that you are recreating two games into one, Final Fantasy Chronicles, and that was partly because of fan demands.

We hope that you do take our pleas and demands into consideration. By disregarding them, however, you are ignoring a major group of the Final Fantasy VII community.
